Mandurah Bridge Redevelopment Update<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>What you said&#8230;<\/strong><br \/>\nThank you to those that provided feedback about the Old Mandurah Bridge Redevelopment. You told us that the following were important and they will be included in the final bridge design<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Pedestrian and cycle access<\/li>\n<li>Fishing platforms<\/li>\n<li>Raised bridge height.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>In addition, the following will be considered in the final bridge design<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Opinions were split when respondents were asked what is your preferred style for the bridge design, with 50 percent of respondents answering historic and 50 percent modern\/contemporary preference<\/li>\n<li>The top two design elements identified were the visual connection to water and the incorporation of social and historical heritage<\/li>\n<li>77 percent respondents would prefer an open vista pillar design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>We also appreciate the pictures and stories that you shared. This important social history of the crossing will be considered and celebrated as part of the final design.<br \/>\n<strong>Where are we at?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Old Mandurah Bridge Redevelopment project is currently in phase two.<br \/>\nThe Community Reference Group has reviewed the progress and input received into the bridge replacement. A Strategic Value Management Workshop was held on April 2.\u00a0Experts and nominated community members examined the identified possible solutions against a set of key project criteria and objectives, in particular:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Budget (replacement and maintenance costs)<\/li>\n<li>Minimising impact to the community through the construction phase<\/li>\n<li>Discuss and agree the form of the new bridge within the context of adjoining land uses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>During the current phase, the CRG had anticipated to provide proposed concept designs back to our community. As the possible solutions are still being examined, the CRG are unable to deliver designs at this point. Following the Minister for Transport\u2019s decision on the preferred option, bridge designs will be developed and presented to our community.<\/div>\n<div><strong>Next Steps&#8230;<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Further examination and rigor to be applied to the Value Management Workshop outcomes.\u00a0Incorporated this information\u00a0into the business case to be
