Community centre

In 2003 and 2004 the Progress Association received grants for the construction of a new Community Centre and playground from:


  • Department of Transport and Regional Services  – $170,000
  • Lotterywest – $145,000
  • City of Mandurah – $10,000
  • Dept Local Government and Regional Development – $15,000

With assistance from the Shire of Waroona (earthworks) and several local businesses, our hall was built during 2004 and officially opened by Mr Don Randall MLA in March 2005.

We think it is the best such facility in the region and is suitable for many activities including playgroup, education, training seminars, medical, social and sporting activities. We have had a couple of very successful weddings – brides, grooms, caterers and planners have all been very impressed with the appearance and the facilities.

There is a large, well equipped kitchen and two halls – one 12 metres x 12 metres and a smaller one 6 metres x 6 metres.
