Request for Submissions
Mr Euan Ferguson AFSM, Special Inquirer, invites members of the public to make a submission to the special inquiry into the recent fires that affected the Shire of Waroona, the Shire of Harvey and the town site of Yarloop in January 2016.
Submissions should address the specific terms of reference of the special inquiry, which concern the effectiveness of the response to the fire, lessons learned from previous bushfire emergencies and legislative, policy or functional reforms which may strengthen Western Australia’s capability to manage bushfire related risk.
Electronic submissions attached as a MS Word or Adobe PDF are preferred and may be made electronically to WaroonaInquiry@semc.wa.gov.au.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit written submissions not exceeding 20 pages (excluding attachments). All submissions must include the author’s full postal address and contact details, and state whether the author also wishes to orally present their submission at public or private hearing.
If you wish to make a confidential submission, you must make this clear at the time of your submission. Whilst the special inquiry will make every effort to respect this request, people making submissions should be aware that submissions might be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act 1992.
The closing date for submissions is 4 March 2016.
