As I suggested yesterday, the Shire of Waroona has extended the prohibited burning season to midnight 25th April. Let’s hope we have rain by then!!!
The formal notice from the Shire is below.
I have just learned that the Shire of Waroona has extended the period for which permits are required to 11th April due to the continuing lack of rain. It is also possible that there will be further extensions.
The Fire Control Officer, Gareth Davies, is not issuing permits as the fire conditions are still very dangerous.
People who live in other shires such as Mandurah should check with their local authorities but the Lake Clifton brigade strongly advises against any fires until we get some decent rain.
We will update this advice as soon as we hear any more information.
