This link will take you to Mandurah Community News for April.
As I suspected, the lack of rain has prompted another extension to the prohibited burning period in Waroona. We are not permitted to light fires until after March 31st. Hope the rain promised for this weekend does eventuate!!
DFES has declared a total fire ban for today for many local government areas. It covers all of Perth, east to the hills area and south to Waroona. Please stay safe.
I have just had a message from the Shire of Waroona saying that the prohibited burning period has been extended to midnight 17th March. It will probably be further extended if we do not have significant rain before then.
Time is running out for us to make submissions to the inquiry into this fire. If you would like to make a submission and need help to write it please contact Graeme who is happy to assist. The deadline is Friday 4 March. The following is taken from the Public Sector Commission web site.
