Council elections

Council elections will be held on 17 October 2015. It would be GREAT if we had someone local on one or both of the councils. If you have any interest at all and would like to know more, please call 0407175564. I can put you in touch with a long term councillor who is very willing to talk to anyone who would like to know more about the role. You do not need to be wealthy, a member of a political party or have any qualification other than an interest in providing services and support to your people in your area. September happenings

Tomorrow, Sunday 30th August (apologies for the short notice) there will be a Wildlfower Walk and Talk at 2.00pm. Myra and Don Hicks, 60 Altona Dve Herron, have offered their bush block for a delightful afternoon walk.. Thanks very much. Please bring your own tea, coffee, etc., and a plate to share for afternoon tea. Spring flowers are really starting to come out and there will be plenty of exciting things to see and learn.

Next Saturday, September 5th, from 9.30am to 12noon, there will be another garden working bee at the Community Hall. Thanks to Graeme and Janice who came along last time. We have two more sections of garden to mulch, plant and prune. It is not hard work and a few more volunteers would be appreciated. Morning tea supplied.

Saturday 19th September the Community Hall will be a polling place for the Canning by-election. Don’t forget to vote. Consequently the Library will not be open.

Remember the AGM is on Sunday 20th September at 2.00pm. Please come along as it is YOUR association and there are some changes we would like to make. The AGM will be followed by afternoon tea and a Community Meeting.

Change to Facebook Group

The permissions for the Lake Clifton Herron group on Facebook have been changed to allow all members to post. When we set it up a few months ago, we deliberately made it quite restrictive but feel that the time has come to open it up.

As this is not a buy and sell site, please do not use it for advertising things for sale. Any posts of this nature or that are offensive will be taken down.

But please do post anything that you think will be of interest or assistance to the local community. Lost dogs, Tupperware parties or other social events to get people together, break ins, photos of local flowers or animals are all very welcome.
