We have had lots of offers of assistance, the most recent is from the Probus Club in Mandurah. These people are older and not able to do the physical things like using a chain saw. But they could look after your children or your partner or your animals while you go shopping, cook a meal for you, do some indoor cleaning while you are busy with the heavy work outside or any of the other day to day tasks that are so time consuming.

There has been a spike in the number of mosquitoes recently. This has been caused by high tides which have prevented effective spraying. More details are in the press release – see link below.
This could not have come at a worse time as the fires have destroyed much of the mosquitoes habitat and it appears that they are targeting people even more than usual. So please take extra precautions – Ross River virus on top of all our other problems would be a REALLY bad thing!!
City of Mandurah Media Release 21 Jan 2011
The guys from Karnet and Bunbury prisons are doing a wonderful job of cleaning up. Yesterday they started on Pat and Peter’s place and today they are getting stuck into Joe and Chris’s block. They can stay in the area as long as they are needed but if they run out of things to do they will have to go away.
So if you need help with cutting up fallen trees, dropping dead stuff, clearing fence lines etc etc please grab them before they get away. You can leave a comment here, phone Graeme on 9739 1484 or call supervisor Rob on 0418 940 896.
